The Outer Banks contains many different garages for your auto repair needs. We’re right in the middle: we’re independent of a dealership or a chain but supplied through NAPA, making us small enough to be personable and big enough to protect you on your travels. We’re a proud shop on the rise, mainly growing because of the demand, and promoting ourselves by our reputation alone. Lighthouse Automotive has been providing auto repair in North Carolina for 24 great years. Begun in Wanchese and moved to Manteo and the Outer Banks region, our celebrated auto mechanics have become a force to be reckoned with on the local scene!
Lighthouse Automotive is owned by David & Jeannie Light, our Chief Mechanic, and Office Manager, respectively, and our owners. From his earliest years, David has found his calling working on automobiles. He studied vocational auto mechanics in high school and graduated from a trade school. Eventually, David and his wife Jeannie opened the first Lighthouse location in Wanchese, in a lot beside their own home. Over a decade, we steadily built up a following by offering honest service at a fair price.
We strive hard to take care of our clients and give them the best possible service. We also strive to be fair and honest with our customers, to ensure they feel we are worthy of the trust they show our auto repair shop. When you bring your car to Lighthouse Automotive, we make a Digital Vehicle Inspection and share with you everything we find, with a suggested timeline for future repairs. We want you to know what’s coming, but we don’t pressure you into repairs before they’re essential, and that’s done a lot to build our reputation as an honest shop. For Lighthouse Automotive, our driving factor is not the money we can make; it’s about the relationships we form along the way and the community we build. As a shop, we have all the things you need to guarantee good service: mechanics, a Master-level technician in David, and staff happy to serve you. To ensure that you’re protected on the road, we carry a NAPA Auto Care Gold Warranty (3-year/36,000-miles). In fact, we were nominated for NAPA Auto Shop of the Year in 2021.
